A bright, youthful glow.
The area surrounding the eyes is one of the first and the most noticeable in showing the signs of aging. Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, can correct heaviness and drooping of the upper eyelids as well as “bags” and drooping below the eyes. Upper and lower eyelid surgery can lead to a dramatically improved appearance, a more well-rested and youthful look overall.
Afterward, many of our eyelid surgery patients feel their appearance has dramatically improved, and that they look well-rested and youthful as a result.
If you’re interested in addressing the above concerns with eyelid surgery in Indianapolis, schedule a consultation at Turkle & Associates today.

Frequently Asked Questions
At times, when there are fine lines or dark pigment around the eyes (which surgery does not address), laser procedures or peels may be recommended as alternatives or adjunctive procedures to eyelid surgery. Some patients can choose to have these treatments done at the time of their initial surgery. More often, though, we recommend these procedures be performed about two months after surgery.
Technically, the final results of all surgeries and incisions take 6-12 months to see. This relies on all swelling to be resolved, the deeper tissues to heal, and incisions to have healed completely. Typically within about 3 weeks, results are excellent and the changes that take place thereafter are minor and usually can only be seen when looking closely at photographs
Depending on whether you choose to get upper or lower eyelid surgery (or both), your healing process may look different. We will cover all of these details and more during your initial consultation!
After eyelid surgery, we will instruct you to apply specialized ointment to the incisions. Applying ice and keeping your head elevated can also help accelerate the healing process. Most bruises resolve within 10 to 14 days, or can at least be easily covered with makeup—we can even assist you with makeup products and techniques during recovery.
Two weeks. This may be adjusted based on assessment of healing at your follow-up examination. Generally, contacts may be worn sooner after upper eyelid surgery than lower eyelid surgery.
