The consultation step is a very important part of the plastic surgery process. The timing of your surgery will depend on your schedule and whether or not any preoperative testing is required.
It’s not uncommon for people to schedule their breast surgeries many months in advance!

How does breast augmentation fit into your lifestyle?
Plastic surgery does require financial considerations and that can impact when you might schedule your procedure. Getting a combination of procedures can also affect the total cost. For example, getting only a breast augmentation will be different from the cost of a mommy makeover.
Financial planning is an important part of your surgery preparation. We have several financing options available for those who wish to finance the procedure.
Do you have any major life events coming up?
If you have a significant life event, maybe your wedding or even just a sunny beach vacation, you’ll want to factor that into your breast augmentation surgery timeline.
While you’re recovering you’ll have restrictions on movements and strenuous activities for at least a couple weeks. If you’re looking to take a dip in the pool you’ll need to wait at least 4 to 6 weeks post op before that’s possible.
Breast augmentation and pregnancy:
If you’re already pregnant, plastic surgery is not recommended. Many patients opt to wait until after they’ve had children to get their breast augmentation as part of a mommy makeover.
Breast augmentation can be performed as early as 3 months postpartum. We recommend waiting at least 3 months after completing breastfeeding. Waiting until a person has returned to their desired weight is recommended for optimal results.
While it’s still possible to breastfeed after having a breast augmentation, pregnancy can lead to body changes that can affect your results.
Planning for breast augmentation recovery
After you receive your breast implants you can expect your full recovery period to take 4 to 6 weeks. Of course, many aspects of healing depend on the individual. Your age, history, and lifestyle can all impact how long you’ll need to recover.
During a typical recovery patients usually feel able to return to light activities within 2 to 5 days after their surgery.
A longer recovery period means you’ll need to factor the downtime into your schedule! Many people plan their breast augmentation for the winter months.
Why winter is a great time for plastic surgery procedures:
Many people have more time off in the winter months because of holidays, so it’s easier to plan for a longer recovery period. More than that, the cooler weather actually has some benefits! Not only is it the perfect time to wear some comfy sweaters, the cooler temperatures can help with bruising and swelling.
