Will there be scarring after Mohs reconstruction?

Every surgery will ultimately create a scar. Dr. Hrisomalos’ goal is to make the incisions during Mohs reconstruction as hidden and unnoticeable as possible. In part, this is optimized by where the incisions are placed and the techniques used in surgery. In any case, scar blending does rely on time for healing, which can take weeks to months. There are times when adjunctive procedures, such as laser treatments, may be used after surgery to further reduce the appearance of scars. Your overall care plan during and after Mohs reconstruction will be discussed with and personalized to your individual needs!
