Dr Turkle and Dr Hrisomalos surgically treat the neck very frequently and this is almost always done in the context of treating the lower face with a traditional facelift. These areas age simultaneously and there are generally “aging changes” present in both areas. Lifting the neck alone may lead to an un-natural appearance due to a demarcation between the treated area (the neck) and the un-treated areas (the jawline and lower face). This is why these procedures are most often performed in conjunction. Certainly there are exceptions when the neck may be treated alone and this is something that may be discussed at the time of your consultation.
